For example if the sonotube concrete pillars are pushed because of the frost, you'd get a bunch of bumps in the slab with cracks. Best to keep it uniform. Add spacers (to keep the tubes from moving) and fill the gap with high density polyurethane. Cover the surface with cork & sand smooth (makes a good base for veneer).

You'ld probably have to go quite deep for the sonotubes and put a lot of rebar in them. The soil has a tremendous amount of pressure and can easily tip over retaining walls that aren't designed right.
