The underside of the leaves are speckled, the stems are white with tiny speckles similar to what is on the underside of the leaf. It also had a 1/2 inch white tubular bloom in October that smelled really good! WebBottom line: I spell it “crapemyrtle”. In another example, when I write about lawns, I always use the word “bermudagrass” to refer to the common lawn grass because that’s how professional horticulturists spell it.
